PADDY'S BROWNIES Total preparation and cooking time is typically one hour.
INGREDIENTS: - 1/2 cup of butter for brownie mixture
- 2 tablespoons of butter for topping
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup chocolate syrup
- 4 cups flour
- 1 cup chopped nuts (your choice)
- 2 tablespoons vanilla
- 3 cups chocolate chips
- 1 to 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 1/2 cup amaretto or coffee liqueur
- 2 cups milk
PREPARATION: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs and then add the melted butter, chocolate syrup, vanilla, baking soda, sugar and milk. Mix well. Now, add cocoa, flour and nuts. Mix well. Add one cup of chocolate chips. Pour the mixture into a 10.5 x 16 x 1 inch cookie/jelly roll pan. The size of pan is important. Bake for 45 minutes. TOPPING: In a sauce pan, over low heat, combine 2 tablespoons of butter, 2 cups chocolate chips, and either amaretto or coffee liquer. After the chocolate melts, gradually add powdered sugar to thicken. Topping should be pourable. ENJOY!
